Charter Information
Come aboard the 17ft Boston Whaler Kelp Kritter, for a fishing adventure! Our vessel features a new Suzuki 60hp 4-stroke motor for reliable, clean performance, an open layout, hi-definition Garmin GPS/Sounder, and all safety and boating gear necessary for a good day on the bay!
We focus on operating in San Diego and Mission Bay, with seasonal trips to La Jolla and Point Loma Kelp when fishing and weather conditions permit (these opportunities will be posted on the scheduling form when they arise).
All clients over the age of 16 must acquire and keep on their persons their own fishing license with ocean enhancement; failure to produce a valid license at boarding will result in being sent to buy one immediately, shortening your time on the water! We can store up to 8 rods upright, with plenty of room for gear and tackle bags. We are an artificials only service; we do not buy bait. All morning fishing charters begin at 7am, and return between 12 and 1pm. . Morning trips may be extended on the water at the discretion of the captain and ALL passengers at the rate of $70 per additional hour (whole boat) payable immediately. We are 100% catch and release on ALL bass and shark/ray species; limit 2 retention on other legal sized gamefish like halibut and corvina. We offer 2 different types of fishing charter:
Sportfishing: The day prior to your charter, we will agree on a tactic that we would like to pursue i.e. throwing weedless baits at the jetty, slow-pitching the deep spots in the bay, or fly fishing the flats. The day of your charter, you will board at 7am and we will be off to our fishing destination. Please keep in mind that our pre-determined plan may be undone by weather or tide conditions; be ready and have a back-up rod to fish alternate conditions. Maximum 2 people, $70 for the first 5 hours; $35 per additional hour. I provide: a cooler with soft drinks, water, and some simple snacks. You provide: All the rods, reels, artificial baits, a hat, sunglasses, your fishing license, and a good attitude.
Guided Fishing: Show up with nothing but a fishing license, hat and sunglasses, ready to fish! I will provide all the rods, reels, and tackle for a morning of fishing. the day prior, we will discuss a few specifics like meeting location, and your level of experience. We will target bass, halibut, and other bay species with artificial baits. A good charter for both beginners and more experienced individuals seeking to up their game. Maximum 3 people, $80 for the first 5 hours; $35 per additional hour. I provide: a cooler with soft drinks, water, some simple snacks, all the rods, reels, and artificial baits. You provide a hat, sunglasses, your fishing license, and a good attitude.

All charters are not confirmed until you are contacted the day prior to the charter via text, call or email to decide meeting location. We are a dry operation; no alcohol allowed on board (for now)! All trips are in San Diego or Mission Bay unless otherwise posted! Cash tips preferred and appreciated, but Venmo appreciated onsite as well.
